Why everyone keeps coming back.

Nestled in the charming alpine village of Herbriggen, Restaurant Pizzeria Mamma Mia is a delightful culinary gem for anyone craving authentic Italian flavors with a warm Swiss touch. Specializing in family-friendly Italian cuisine, this cozy eatery offers a welcoming atmosphere that feels like a true home away from home — the kind of place where the aromas of freshly baked pizza and simmering sauces instantly evoke comfort and delight.

The menu at Mamma Mia is thoughtfully curated to celebrate Italy’s most beloved dishes, alongside some Swiss specialties that add a local twist. Among the highlights frequently praised by diners is the lobster linguine, a plate that perfectly balances the richness of succulent lobster with al dente pasta, all bathed in a delicate, fragrant sauce that dances on your palate. For pizza lovers, the anticipation of biting into a wood-fired pizza crust, topped generously with fresh mozzarella, ripe tomatoes, and fragrant basil, is part of the charm — though it’s worth noting that availability may vary depending on the day, as one customer eagerly awaits their next pizza experience here.

The kitchen’s commitment to quality and fresh ingredients shines through every dish, from hearty soups that warm you after a chilled day in the Swiss mountains, to perfectly crafted pizzas that have garnered repeat visits from happy travelers. The presentation is polished yet unpretentious, inviting guests to indulge in both visual and gustatory pleasure.

What truly sets Mamma Mia apart, however, is its heartfelt service. Guests consistently highlight the kindness and attentiveness of the staff, who go above and beyond to make each visit memorable. Whether it’s accommodating special requests or offering a warm smile on a brisk day, the team’s genuine hospitality transforms a meal into an experience that feels uniquely personal.

Family groups and solo travelers alike have found Mamma Mia a reliable and fulfilling stop on their journeys, especially those exploring the wider Zermatt region. Its convenient location at Mattsand 3 makes it an ideal pit stop to refuel before heading into the mountains or continuing through the alpine villages.

In essence, Restaurant Pizzeria Mamma Mia embodies the perfect blend of Italian passion and Swiss warmth, creating a dining experience that lingers long after the last bite. For those seeking genuine flavors paired with an inviting ambiance and outstanding service, this charming spot promises a taste of Italy in the heart of Switzerland.

We had the lobster linguine and some soups enroute to Zermatt. Food is nice and service is excellent. Wanted to try some pizza but there was no pizza at the time of arrival. Hope to dine here again

Great service and really good food. I've been traveling around Europe this year. This place is easily one of our best stops. Wish I wasn't so hungry... I forgot to take a picture of the food. The presentation was very nice.

We came across this restaurant after bumping into a few ones that were closed as it wasn’t ski season. Our family of six thoroughly enjoyed the service and food here! Highly recommended!

Family dinner on a cold Saturday night in November. We had just left Zermatt and the kids were hungry so we decided to stop here on the way home to our accommodation. The restaurant is located on the main road and has lots of parking available. We were unsure what to expect but I must say that the food served here is incredible. Pizza was delicious, kids chicken nuggets were tasty as were the fries. Soup was very tasty also as was the pasta. Friendly staff who always had a smile. Most definitely will return here to eat when we next visit the area. Thank you for making our evening enjoyable and memorable. See you next time.

We stopped as a family of four spontaneously, and we’re so glad we did! We ordered three pizzas and a calzone. Two of the pizzas were kids’ pizzas, and were made with real love. The calzone and the other pizza (the one without mozzarella but with spicy salami, rocket and grana padano cheese were delicious. The base and tomato sauce were particularly good, and the prices were very reasonable. Great decor, very friendly service and they didn’t charge us for tap water! Highly recommended.
